HUNTER DIVISION - INFORMATION
Courses will simulate fences found in the hunting field such as: brush, wall, in-and-out, oxer, post
and rails, gate, aiken, and panels. In some classes, the area of the courtesy circle may be
restricted by a mandatory line. This line will be indicated on the course diagram and physically in
the ring.

AWARDS
Ribbons will be awarded to six places. Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons
and trophies will be awarded to two of the four horses acquiring the most points
over fences in each hunter section. In addition to these points, only these four horses
will receive full points for one under saddle class, including Very Baby Green
(exception: Academy classes). Prize money will be distributed at show.
REFUNDS
NO STALL FEES WILL BE REFUNDED. Entry fees will not be refunded unless a certificate
of illness or injury prepared by an accredited veterinarian is presented to the secretary before the
start of the show. Once the show has started, horses which are not shown in classes they have
entered forfeit the entry fees, except if a horse becomes ill prior to the class entered. Scratches
must be made prior to the start of the class and must be accompanied by a certificate from the
show vet. SCRATCHES AND REFUNDS WILL BE CHARGED A $10.00 fee.
ENTRY FEES
Entry fees for all classes Friday and Saturday are as follows (except where noted in class
descriptions). ENTRY FEE: $15.00 POST ENTRY: $20.00
Entry fees on Sunday will be $10.00 per class (except where noted in class descriptions).

STABLING
Limited stabling in stalls of wooden construction will be available for rent at $65.00 for the weekend
and $40.00 for overnight. If available, stalls will be rented for one-day use only at $25.00 per
stall. Non showing horses will be charged an additional $25.
There is a mandatory $3.00 per night per horse night watch fee.
DOORS NOT PROVIDED. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN STALL GUARDS.
FIRST BEDDING WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. Baled shavings can be purchased
at $6.00 per bale. Please reserve shavings on the entry blank.
NO STALLS WILL BE HELD WITHOUT PAYMENT IN ADVANCE.
NO REFUNDS ON RESERVED STALLS.

SCHOOLING
On Friday, the ring will close at 8:30 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday,
the ring will close at 7:30 a.m.
Other schooling times, if available, will be announced.
JUMP ORDER
A rotating jumping order will be established for all classes over fences. The horse show committee
reserves the right to post an order of go. Riders or trainers with conflicts must see
the Paddock Master so that necessary adjustments can be made.
AT NO TIME WILL THE RING BE HELD MORE THAN 1 MINUTE BECAUSE
OF CONFLICTS OR NO SHOWS. Classics will have a posted order of go.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE
A. All riders must wear protective headgear whether in the ring or schooling.
B. Dogs must be kept on a leash.
C. Horses competing without a number or with a wrong number may be refused
an award at Management’s discretion.
D. A processing fee of $20.00 plus collection fees will be made for
non-negotiable checks.
E. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the grounds.
F. No stallions may be shown by juniors.
CAMPING
Camper hookups are available on the grounds
at a cost of $20.00 per day.

Deadline for pre-entries for the Up and Over Benefit Horse Show: Thursday, June 15, 2006
postmark. Horses shown in classes in which they have not entered will
be required to pay a DOUBLE ENTRY FEE for those classes. Entry blanks will be accepted ONLY
when signed by the owner or his exhibitor’s agent or trainer and accompanied by a check for
classes or stabling fees. Entries in all equitation classes must be made in the name of the
individual who will ride. In addition, any horse or pony ridden only in equitation classes must be
named on an entry blank. In filling out entry blanks, please give complete name and address of all
owners. Anyone under 18 years of age must have signature of parent or responsible person over
18 years of age. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PERSON MAKING THE ENTRY TO
EXECUTE PROPERLY AND COMPLETE ALL NECESSARY INFORMATION PERTAINING TO EACH
ENTRY MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH RULES OF USEF.
CREDENTIALS: NO NUMBERS WILL BE RELEASED UNTIL PROPER CREDENTIALS AND ALL
SIGNATURES ARE IN ORDER.
All USEF membership numbers that apply must be noted on the entry blank or a non-member fee
or fees must be paid. All exhibitors in the Pony sections must present their measurement cards at
the office before numbers will be released. All Pony Hunters who do not possess a current
measurement card will be measured at a time and place to be announced. All exhibitors in
Amateur sections must present their amateur certification at the office before numbers will be
released.
USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT
EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS
OF THE CURRENT US EQUESTRIAN RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN
ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.
Life, senior active, and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at
Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined
Driving Competitions at the advanced level, Dressage, Reining, and Vaulting Competitions and
Endurance Rides provided the respective breed/discipline dues or breed/discipline category fee
has been paid. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent,
coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining
Competitions, and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $20 nonmember registration
fee and a $5 breed/discipline category fee for each breed/discipline. Participants in the following
classes are exempted from this requirements of this rule; 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and
races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk/trot and academy classes (Academy classes are
classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests,
pas de deus and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA endorsed Reining Competitions. Also exempted from
this requirement are citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in
good standing of their own National Federation; 8) USEA beginner novice division; and 9)
assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. (See GR 807.4 of the Federation
rules.)

SHOW CIRCUIT MAGAZINE/FOX SMITH CHILDREN’S MEDAL - 3’
Open to all Junior members of the USEF who have never competed in a National Equitation Final
with fences at 3’6”. Course may be either a Jumper or Hunter type and must include at least two
changes of direction and a combination. Water obstacles are not permitted. The top four riders
are required to perform at least two individual tests from USEF Tests 1-19. An Open Numerical
Scoring System must be used in the first round, with each rider’s score announced at the
completion of their round. There is no min. requirement to fill the class.

$250 MINI CLASSIC - Sunday
Open to a horse/pony/rider combination that has not shown in classes with fences over 2’6”. No
professionals. To be judged on performance and soundness with emphasis on manners. First
round to consist of 8 fences 2’. Judge will use the open numerical system of scoring. The top 10
horses from the 1st round will return for 2nd round in the reverse order of the 1st round scores to
jump 8 fences at 2’ - 2’3”. Scores will be totaled from both rounds to determine placings. In the
case of a first place tie, the tied horses will jump a third round over a shortened course to
determine a winner. For ties in all other placings, prize money will be equally divided between tied
exhibitors. Coin toss will determine awarding ribbons. Must have 10 entries to run as a class.
Trophy and 10 ribbons.

Open to all hunter exhibitors, except professionals. To be judged on performance and

THE UP & OVER HUNTER ASSOC. CHALLENGE MEDAL
Consists of two divisions, to be judged and pinned separately but can be run concurrently.
Division one (1) is open to current Jr. members, 17 & under. Division two (2) is open to current
Adult members who are not professionals. Exhibitors must be mounted on horses/ponies,
mares/geldings; adult members may show stallions. Class to consist of a course of at least 8
fences with 2 changes of direction. Top 4 riders in each division will be called back for further
testing. (USEF tests 1-19). Three competitors must complete the class for points to count. Points
awarded 6-5-4-3-2-1. 12 points needed to qualify for a Finals Class to be held at Oct. Up & Over
show. Heights to be at 2’-2’3” or 2’6”-2’9”. Exhibitor may not compete at a fence height lower than
currently showing. Heights in the Jr. division will be judged and pinned together. Heights in the
Adult division will be judged and pinned together. Medal, trophy and eight ribbons.

DIRECTIONS
From the north: Take Route 11 S to Route 305 W. (see below) OR
Take 528 S to 422 E to 305 E exit. Follow 305E to Hoagland Blackstub Road. Turn left at the
light. Go 2 ½ miles to Everett Hull Road and turn left.
From the south: Take Route 11 north to Route 305 west.
From the west: Take the Route 5 bypass around Warren and exit Route 5 north toward Cortland.
Turn left on 305. Take Route 82 or Interstate 80 to Route 11 north.
From the east: From Route 11, take Route 305 west. You will cross Route 46, then Route 5. Stay
on Route 305 across the RR tracks to the stop sign. Turn left continuing to follow Route 305.
Route 305 bears right around the Mosquito Creek Reservoir.
At the intersection of 305 and Hoagland Blackstub Road, turn right. Go approximately 2 1/2 miles
to Everett Hull Road. Turn left. The Trumbull County Fairground will be on the right. Continue past
the main entrance of the fairgrounds to the next intersection. Turn right on Durst-Clagg Road;
make a right into the show grounds.

- Canada,
VA, WV, TN, MO are contiguous states.
Adult Amateur Hunter:
To be ridden by Amateurs who are no longer eligible to compete as Junior Exhibitors. Riders may
not compete in
any other classes at the same competition where fences exceed 3'3", except the Adult Amateur
Jumper. Fences 2'9"
to 3'3"; spreads not to exceed fence height. Ponies may be shown by Adults, suitability to count.
Entries need not be
jogged for soundness. An unrestricted Children’s/Adult Hunter division may be offered and be
open to all Amateurs
and Juniors; fence heights not to exceed 3’3”.
Children's Hunter:
Open to horses and ponies. To be ridden by a Junior Exhibitor. Neither horses nor riders may
cross enter into the
Junior Hunter section at the same show. Riders may not cross enter into any classes in which
fences exceed 3'3" at
the same show, except Medal classes, age group equitation classes and Children's Jumper
classes. Ponies may not
compete in the Children's section if also entered in the pony division at the same show. Fence
heights 2’9” to 3’3”;
spreads not to exceed fence heights. Entries need not be jogged for soundness. An unrestricted
Children’s/Adult
Hunter division may be offered and be open to all Amateurs and Juniors; fence heights not to
exceed 3’3”.
Children's Hunter Pony: -
Open to ponies ridden by a Junior Exhibitor. The combination pony/rider is not eligible for USEF
rated classes at
the same show. To be judged on performance, soundness, manners, way of going, size of rider to
mount, and
suitability as a Children's Hunter Pony. To be offered at two heights: fences 2' for small and
medium and 2'6" for
large ponies; spreads not to exceed height of fence. Ponies need not be jogged for soundness.
Zone award will be
presented annually as one section.
Children's Jumper:
Open to horses and ponies. To be ridden by a Junior exhibitor. Horse/rider combinations may not
cross enter into
any Junior Jumper section at the same show. Riders may cross enter into Low Junior Jumper
section if offered on
a different horse at the same show. Riders may not compete above Level 6 in any open class at
the same show.
Sections may be divided by age of rider or by horse/pony and may also be combined with the
Adult Amateur
Jumper section, if so stated in the prize list. USEF Levels not to exceed 3; spreads to 4’. If section
is split into
High and Low, one class in the High section may be offered at Level 4.
Adult Amateur Jumpers:
Open to horses and ponies to be ridden by exhibitors who are no longer eligible to compete as
Junior Exhibitors. All exhibitors must be Amateurs in accordance with GR 808 and must show USEF
Amateur certification. Horse/rider combinations may not cross enter into any Amateur Owner
Jumper section at the same show. Riders may cross enter
into the Low Amateur Owner Jumper section if offered on a different horse at the same show.
Riders may not
compete above Level 6 in any open at the same show. Sections may be divided by age of rider or
by horse/pony
and may be combined with the Children's Jumper section, if so stated in the prize list. USEF Levels
not to exceed 3;
spreads to 4’. If section is split into High and Low, one class in the High section may be offered at
Level 4.
Pre-Green Hunter
A Pre-Green Hunter is a horse of any age in its first or second year of showing over 3' to 3'3"
fences at Regular
Member or Canadian Equestrian Federation or any national or international competition in any
classes that require
horses to jump 3' to 3'3" or higher. Fences not to exceed 3'3". Once a horse has shown 3'6" he is
not eligible the
following year to compete in that division, regardless of age. There will not be an annual award for
this division.
